Industry Standards Vs Allset Warranties
Retailers Warranty – Industry Standard and Allset 5Years
All CEC Approved Retailers must provide this as an insurance the system works as intended.
Workmanship Warranty – Industry Standard 5years / Allset 12 Years
All CEC-approved retailers must also provide warranties for the workmanship undertaken. This warranty goes hand in hand with the equipment warranties and covers issues with the installation itself. Note: The length of this warranty provides a good education into the quality of the installation itself.
Inverter / MicroInverter Warranty – Industry Standard 5 Years. (Also dependant on the manufacturer. Could be 10 Years. Check the Manufacturer to Confirm)
This warranty must warrant that the manufacturer’s products are free from defects, and premature wear and tear and covers either replacement or repair of a faulty product. A standard warranty covers parts and labor costs, whilst only parts warranty does not cover associated costs like labor and transport. Some manufacturers offer compensation for loss of income i.e agreed feed-in tariffs with electricity providers while the inverter is out of action. As the Inverter is the hardest working part of the PV System, the longer the warranty can provide additional peace of mind about the quality of the product
Solar PV Warranty – Industry Standard 10 Years / Industry Performance Standard 25 years (Also can be dependant on the manufacturer which may offer a greater standard/performance warranty. Check with the manufacturer to confirm.
According to Aus Standards, a solar panel manufacturer must warrant that the panels are free from manufacturing defects, environmental issues and premature wear and tear.
Mounting System Warranty – Industry Standard 10 years / Wind Loads to AS/NZ1170
This warranty will not have an impact on the system’s performance to the same extent as the warranty for the solar PV Panel, equipment used to mount the system must be free from defects in both materials and workmanship. Most importantly the mounting system must hold min wind loads according to the WL Standard AS/NZ1170. Manufacturer must provide a Mounting System Warranty under relevant Aus Standards
Other Warranties – In addition to the above-mentioned warranties, there are other warranties offered depending on equipment installed. I.E Power Optimizers and Batteries. Refer to product manual of these additional items for the said warranties offered.
